Vintage Vibes Festival in Lake Lure

In lieu of our annual dance festival, the Hickory Nut Gorge Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the vibrant communities of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock Village, and neighboring areas, will be hosting “Vintage Vibes Weekend” from September 6th to 8th, 2024.

Vintage Vibes Weekend will be a celebration of the rich history and cultural heritage of our beloved region. Each participating business will embrace a unique nostalgic theme, paying homage to iconic figures, celebrating movies filmed in our area, and honoring our cultural roots. From tributes to local legends to themed activities, there will be something for everyone to enjoy and cherish.

A special highlight of the weekend will be a heartfelt tribute to Patrick Swayze, commemorating his time spent filming “Dirty Dancing” in Lake Lure. We aim to honor his profound influence on our community and showcase the enduring legacy of this iconic film. Additionally, visitors can anticipate a diverse array of themed events, including movie screenings, lively music, dancing, and engaging activities throughout the weekend.
