Thank you all for the incredible outpouring of support—we truly have the best guests! While many areas nearby were hit hard, we’re grateful to report that Emberglow sustained only minor damage and we were able to reopen soon after the storm last fall. Below, you’ll find the latest updates on volunteer opportunities, donations, road accessibility, and area attractions. We encourage everyone to visit the area, support local businesses, and even bring a group to stay and help with recovery efforts.
So much of the area is open!
It was a rough fall and winter for the area and local business would love to see you. Our Area Attractions page is up to date with the hiking, biking, restaurants, shopping, and activities that are open for you to enjoy.
Though the lake will remain closed this summer for cleanup efforts, the Town of Lake Lure is open and gems there like Lured Market & Grill, La Strada, El Lago, and more would love for you to visit.
Lake Adger is also a beautiful place nearby to kayak or paddle board.
The town of Chimney Rock is currently closed for visitors, but there is so much rebuilding happening, including a new bridge to Chimney Rock State Park. No reopening date has been given yet, but the supports and platform are in so everyone is hoping it will be very soon. You can see the latest updates here: 2025 Park Access – Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park
Volunteers will be needed for the coming months to assist with clean-up and rebuilding efforts in the area. If you or your group are looking for a place to stay, Emberglow offers the perfect base camp for that. We will also be honoring a 20% discount for those volunteering in the area.

We have 36 full hook-up RV sites and 21 lodging sites where we can host people coming to the area to work in the relief, clean-up, and rebuilding efforts. Contact us at frontdesk@emberglowoutdoorresort.com if your group would like to stay here while working in the area.
We are no longer receiving donations and acting as a distribution point. Some more permanent locations have been established to meet the long term needs and we want to support them.
